Thin-walled Healthy 304 Stainless Steel Welded Pipe

304 / 304L stainless steel pipe is a strong, tough metal with high corrosion protection, high temperature resistance and the ability to be sterlized. It has high workability and can be manufactured to tight tolerances and welded.  These alloys are the most commonly used of the stainless steel alloys and are a cost-effective choice for most applications.

By increasing the content of carbon in the alloy, the high carbon version of SS UNS S30403 Welded Pipe delivers a good performance. Though the weldability of high carbon grade 304 is adequate, or may even be considered to be good, perhaps, the same property of 304L SS Electropolished Pipes, pales in its comparison. Alternatively, 304L is not an adequate alloy for use in elevated temperature conditions as opposed to the high carbon version of DIN 1.4306 Hollow Pipes.
