PPGL stands for pre-painted galvalume steel, which is a kind of color-coated steel with GL as substrate. It combines the strength of steel with excellent anti-corrosion of Zn-Al coating. The galvalume coating is made of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon.
What is the difference between GI steel and GL steel?
Strong Corrosion Resistance: GL steel is more resistant than galvanised (GI) steel due to the double protection of zinc and aluminium. That is, when the zinc is worn away, the aluminium will form a dense layer of aluminium oxide, preventing corrosive substances from further corroding the steel interior.
What are PPGL sheets used for?
PPGL sheets can be used as roofing in addition to chimney pipes or ovens owing to their corrosion resistance, good heat resistance, and surface conductivity.
