321 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe Manufacturer

Stainless Steel 321/321H is a stable version of the Stainless Steel grade 304. In addition to its 18/8ratio of Chromium and Nickel this alloy is tempered with titanium. This gives the alloy the additionalproperty of resistance against intergranular corrosion which occurs as a consequence of heattreatment. lt can be used without any issues in the temperature range of 430 to 816°C. This alloy hashigh mechanical strength and remains resistant to corrosion even when submerged in water. Majorapplications include heavy welding machinery and in dynamically changing environments.

The addition of titanium while boosting strength is a detriment to the machinability of type 321. The metal canonly be welded using certain specific welding techniques. lf we get beyond this limitation the type 321 alloyhas excellent formability as this metal does not need to be annealed after welding. This grade can work inextreme temperatures even down to cryogenic levels. lt is often chosen over 304 when the project requireshigher creep and rupture resistance. However both types can be susceptible to cracking due to stresscorrosion.
Stainless Steel grade 321H is a higher carbon version of the 321. The higher carbon levels promote resistanceto high temperature environments. As a result, 321H is preferred where 321 can't handle the temperaturesespecially in environments exceeding 538'C. While its machinability is near identical to 321 it cannot behardened via heat treatment.
